Troubleshooting
Initial check
1. Inspect all connectors & check for bent pins
2. Check the app for any accommodating error. If there is an error on the app, send a screenshot. If not, proceed to the checklist below:
a. Are there any abnormal readings in the app or on the display, or any readings that do not work at all? E.g. cadence RPM, throttle-in voltage, etc.?
b. Do throttle and Pedal Assist work respectively? If they work, but not as expected, please provide a description.
c. Are you able to make all the settings adjustments you want, and if not, what are they?
d. Can you Restore to Factory/Default Settings (as on page 5 in the CYC Ride Control App Manual)?
Bypass display
1. Unplug the display & short-circuit the B+ & Key-In pins using a bypass plug (attach reference images)
2. You should be able to
connect to the CYC Ride Control App or if you press the throttle, the throttle
should output power.
WARNING: Lift the rear wheel BEFORE attempting to press the throttle as the
system will be in the highest assist level by default.
3. If the throttle and app work as normal, then the display is the cause of the issue. If not, the controller has failed.
Solution
If the Throttle is working, replace the display; If the Throttle is not working, replace the controller.
Symptom 3
The display says "Display/ controller error".
Reasons
this is the new error meaning the communication error between the display and controller.
The most likely reason is the connector.
Troubleshooting
Check pin out and harness to see if there is anything pinched
before checking if there is an issue with the controller or display.
