Brake Sensors
Brake sensor set-up
General Info
They are sensors that ensure power gets cut off when your bike's brakes are pulled. It's completely up to your preference as some people like them and others don't. The primary feature of brake sensors is for safely and so we recommend that you get them if you are new to bikes or ebikes. Please note that the brake sensors we provide are not integrated into brakes themselves (like with the Magura MT5e's) but is an additional component installed onto your existing brake levers.
The brake sensor function is turned off (or disabled) by default. With the brake sensor function turned off, you can still run the kit as normal when the brake sensors are installed, it will not affect your kit's performance. The brake sensors simply will not activate in this case. Activate them by enabling them in the "Peripherals" section of the CYC Ride Control App.

Using Third Party Sensors
Technically, all CYC X-Series Controllers are compatible with brake sensors from other suppliers provided that the pin layout matches. If the pin layout of the third-party sensor matches, then there should be no problem and the "Brake Sensor Signal Invert" function can also be used if needed. However, CYC does not test brake sensors from other suppliers and so can make no guarantee that it will work.
IMPORTANT: CYC makes no guarantee that any other supplier’s sensors will work, and any issues to the CYC system as a result of using third-party peripherals, will not be warranted.
