Troubleshoot
If the noise persists, please follow the steps below to troubleshoot the issue and find the source of the noise:
- Kindly turn off the system and rotate the rear wheel backward. Please check if the rotor is rotating smoothly. If there’s no noise from it, then there’s no issue with the gearbox and drivetrain.
- If there’s no noise under no load, please remove the 219H chain and tensioner and proceed to run the motor, if it produces noise- then the noise is within the gearbox.
- Then, please unbolt the 4 bolts in the front cover of the motor and check the gearbox. If there’s a metal powder inside/between the front cover and the gearbox body- there may be parts in the gearbox that were loosened, and we’ll arrange to ship you a new gearbox.
*Please note that when you rotate the rear wheel backward, the center of the motor (rotor) should be rotating. When you push the pedal and the system is turned off, the rotor should not rotate.
Solution
Do also share video recordings of the noise and/or any other issue. Please check as well if there's an error shown in the display or the app, to give us a better understanding of the issue for us to troubleshoot accordingly.
Hope to hear from you soon.
