06PG2 - PAS not working

06PG2 - PAS not working

ASI Controller

1. Please turn on the kit & connect to the CYC (BAC) app

2. Go to your PAS settings & change the “pedal sensor type” to “axle torque” then save to flash

3. Now, test run in assist levels 1-5 & let us know if you get a reaction from the motor (this will confirm if the torque sensor has failed or not)

4. Next, do the same but this time, change the “pedal sensor type” to “single hall” (not single hall LDS).

5. Test run and let us know if you get a reaction (this will confirm if the cadence sensor has failed or not)

Lastly, we also want you to confirm the torque voltage in PAS settings: Check the voltage reading, then unplug the torque sensor & check that this reading drops (it takes a few seconds to load). If it doesn't change, then we'll need to troubleshoot a bit more but if it does change, then we'll replace the sensors easily.

Torque Sensor, Controller

Solution

Please check the following:

  1. Is there a Cadence RPM reading on the CYC Ride Control app? If yes, is it accurate or is it clearly inaccurate?
  2. Is there a Human Input reading on the app?

If the Cadence RPM is still getting a reading even though it's not accurate, it means that there is still a communication signal from the controller. In this case, the TS (torque sensor) needs to be replaced.

If the Cadence RPM reading is 0, look for other signs of controller failure.

Signs of controller failure include things like not being able to connect to the app, other strange readings, odd power delivery, etc.

*NOTE: Cadence RPM can also be seen on the DS103 and SW102 displays. Human Input can be seen on DS103 but NOT on SW102.

How can we know this?

The Human Input reading is calculated as follows:
(Nm x Avg. Cadence)/ x.xxx

Thus, if there is no torque input, then the Human Input reading will be "0".
