Gear Hubs

Internal Gear Hubs:

The best internal gear hub with the highest torque currently available on the market is the Rohloff which is rated up to 130 N.m. of torque. Unfortunately, these are not made to withstand high torque and there's no way around this unless you set the torque of the motor lower through our mobile app. The Rohloff will still work nicely with the Photon, since the Photon's torque is only 110 N.m. but it still won't last long as it would on a standard bike. Though it's not recommended for the X1 Pro and X1 Stealth. 

For Derailleurs: 

You can use any decent quality set up like from SRAM or Shimano, they last decently well. However, there are some ebike specific drivetrains that work well. Which one you choose will simply be up to your preference: 

• Box Components Prime 9 single shift group-set
• Shimano LINKEGLIDE utility drivetrain 
• SRAM Eagle group-set 

Single Speed: 

Single Speed setups will be no problem at all, if you wish to set it up like a motorbike, a BAC2000/X12 controller is definitely recommended. It has very good torque and high RPM.
