Controller Temperature Reading Jumps


Symptoms

 

If you notice that your controller’s temperature reading on the display is unstable, fluctuating without any motor input, this may lead to an "Error Code 5" or display the message "Controller Over Temperature."

Possible Causes



This issue may be caused by:


  • A firmware glitch
  • A malfunctioning temperature probe in the motor


Troubleshooting Steps


  1. Reflash the Firmware: Use the CYC Ride Control app or connect to a PC to reflash the firmware. Follow the instructions in this article: 📄 X1 Pro Gen 4: Firmware
  2. Replace the motor: If reflashing the firmware does not resolve the issue, you will need to replace the motor. 


Warranty Information


If the motor is still within its warranty period and shows no signs of physical alteration (such as cut wires), the necessary components will be replaced under warranty.
