X1 Pro Gen 4: Display losing assist
Symptoms
Your SW102 or DS103 display is changing assist levels without your input when riding. For example, the assist level goes from level 3 to level 1 or 0 without you pressing any of the buttons when you start riding or while you are riding.
Reasons
There is an issue with the display's firmware.
Checklist
- Ensure that you are not accidentally pressing the UP or DOWN button on your display
- Ensure that all connectors are properly connected and not damaged
- Ensure that all wiring is in good condition
Troubleshoot
- Check all wiring and connectors. You may be asked to provide evidence of your wiring and connectors being in good condition to qualify for a warranty.
- Test ride your bike using pedal assist and throttle to confirm that you are not accidentally pushing buttons.
- Record a video or ask a friend to help you record a video showing that the display's assist level is going down by itself. Not that the display's buttons and the display's screen, need to be visible.
Solution
Replace the display
Contact CYC or your authorized reseller with the supporting evidence needed to request a replacement. You may also be asked to present your receipt or proof of purchase in order to qualify for a warranty replacement.
A display firmware reflash may also be attempted:
Warranty condition: If the display in question is still within its warranty period and there is no indication that the display or wiring has been altered physically (such as cutting wires), then the components needed will be replaced under warranty.
*Wiring or connection damage as a result of bent pins or damaged connectors will NOT be warranted.
